CWDI Chair Irene Natividad was joined by Undersecretary of Trade and Industry Nora K. Terrado, PSE CEO Hans B. Sicat, Former Secretary of Foreign Affairs Delia Domingo-Albert, and 40 women Board Directors, CEOs and executives for the first-ever all-women Market Open at the Philippine Stock Exchange. The Market Open salutes the achievements of Filipina women leaders in business and marks the Philippines’ hosting of the APEC Women and the Economy Forum.
More than 30 women business leaders gathered at the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) to ring the opening bell on Tuesday. The bell ringing ceremony marked the country’s hosting of the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Women and the Economy 2015 Fora.
“The country is indeed a fitting host for APEC’s initiatives for women as it is often cited as a good place for career women even for those in management positions,” said PSE Chairman Jose T. Pardo in his welcome remarks. “The PSE, as an organization, promotes gender diversity and equality in the workplace. It is likewise supportive of initiatives that encourage women leadership,’ Mr. Pardo added.
