Hon. KhunyungKalaya Sophonpanich, (Acting) Minister of Education (Thailand)
Khunyung Kalaya Sophonpanich was appointed Deputy Minister of Education for Thailand in 2019, and as of Feb 25, 2021, is serving as acting Minister of Education. A PhD graduate in high energy nuclear physics from Imperial College London, she was Thailand’s Minister for Science and Technology from 2008-2010. She was one of the founders of the National Electronics and Computer Technology Center (NECTEC) in 1986 and was Founder and Secretary General of the Rajapruek Institute Foundation and a member of the Thai Environment Institute.
