BIOGRAPHY

Professor of Sociology of Education and Labor Market Research at Humboldt University of Berlin and Honorary Professor of Sociology at Freie Universität Berlin Dr. Jutta Allmendinger, Ph.D served as President of the Berlin Social Science Center (WZB) from 2007 to 2024. Earlier, she was Director of the Institute for Employment Research at the Federal Employment Agency in Nuremberg from 2003 to 2007. Since 2016, she has been a member of the Supervisory Board of Berliner Stadtreinigung (Berlin Waste Management) and in 2017, she was appointed to the editorial board of the weekly newspaper die Zeit. In 2022, she chaired the G7 Gender Equality Advisory Council under the German Presidency. In 2024, she was appointed as Chairwoman of the Scientific Commission of Lower Saxony and elected as member of the German Ethics Council by the German Bundestag.
