BIOGRAPHY

General Manager of Merchant Services Spain, managing +200 colleagues based in Spain. Julia is the ChairWoman of American Express Payments Europe Legal Entity. She is also member of the Spain Country Executive Team and the Executive Sponsor of the Spain Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Committee.
Before her current role she was the Head of Travel and Lifestyle Spain and held sales manager roles in the Merchant Services organization.
Prior to joining Amex, she spent 11 years in the sales management with Randstad and Azkar (Spain Road transportation company). She is founder and former board member of a non-profit Spanish Association for Top Management, Executives and Directors of Boards (EJE&CON) .Mentor Board Program EJE&CON. She won the Women in Payments “Advocate for Inclusivity” Europe Award in 2023.
Julia holds a Business degree in Universidad Complutense de Madrid, has a Postgraduate from IESE business school, AMP in ESADE Business School and is Certified and holds a Diploma by the ICA, Spain Institute of Directors.
Julia speaks Spanish, English and Dutch. Lives with husband and 7-yr old daughter in Madrid. Julia’s passion is to travel the world and learn from different cultures and have her second home in Ibiza Island.
