BIOGRAPHY

Astrid Maier is passionate about making journalism accessible to as many people as possible. As Deputy Editor-in-Chief of dpa, Germany’s largest and independent news agency, she develops strategies to keep news relevant to the real lives of all dpa customers with the help of technological and content innovation. Before joining dpa, the business and tech journalist was Editor-in-Chief of the professional network XING. She started her journalism career at the Financial Times Deutschland, followed by positions at manager magazin and Wirtschaftswoche, where she was head of the Business & Markets and Innovation & Digital departments. She is an alumna of the John S. Knight Fellowship at Stanford University and co-founder of Dverse Media, an association that promotes more diversity and innovation in journalism.
