Ali Faramawy is a senior technology executive, a board member, a strategic advisor, and a social entrepreneur. After a 35-year journey in corporate roles, the last 25 with Microsoft, he decided to pursue an independent career in strategic advisory, non-executive board roles, and start-up investments focusing on digital transformation, financial inclusion, and youth empowerment. His current portfolio encompasses board roles at Valentino Spa in Italy, Balmain in France, the Central Bank of Egypt, The American University in Cairo, and eXtra in Saudi Arabia. He also serves as a strategic advisor on the topic of digital economy to the Mastercard Foundation. His last executive role as a corporate vice president in Microsoft saw him leading the company’s Digital Transformation Partnerships Organization, which was established in 2017 to support Microsoft’s key commercial and government customers in transforming their business with digital and cloud technology. Earlier he was President of Microsoft Middle East and Africa for 13 years.
