BIOGRAPHY

Selen Okay Akçalı is a civil society volunteer and technology entrepreneur dedicated to advancing gender equality. She is the Chairperson of the Board at Yanındayız Association, the first and only organization in Türkiye that engages men in the fight for gender equality. An Industrial Engineer by training, she has built her career in the telecom and retail sectors, specializing in marketing, sales, and trade marketing. After 12 years in the private sector, she became increasingly concerned about gender equality in the workplace and began exploring the evolving role of women in modern professional environments. In early 2023, she assumed her current role as Chairperson of the Board at Yanındayız (We Stand By You) Association, focusing on engaging men in gender equality efforts.Beyond her advocacy work, she is the founding partner of Agenti, a flexible HR start-up aimed at increasing youth employment in Türkiye.
