BIOGRAPHY

Ümit Boyner is a Board Director of Boyner Holding, Turkiye’s leading non-food retail group. From 2010-2013, she chaired the Board of Directors of TÜSIAD (Turkish Business and Industry Association), having led its EU Affairs Committee since 2005. She has also served as International Supervisory Board Member at Euler Hermes and International Advisory Board Member at UniCredit SpA. She began her career in credit analysis in banking, before moving to financial management. In 1994, she joined Boyner Holding as Vice-President in charge of finance and has served as Executive Board member since 2002. She is also a founding member and former President of OSGD (Turkish Corporate Volunteers), founding member and former Vice President of KAGIDER (Women Entrepreneurs Association of Turkey), a founding member and trustee at TOHUM Foundation (Turkish Autism Foundation) and TINA (Turkish Nautical Archeology Foundation), trustee for TEGV (Turkish Education Volunteers) and TESEV (Turkish Economic and Social Studies Foundation), an Advisory Board Member for the Carnegie Endowment for Peace, Middle East Institute and TUSIAD-Brookings Institute-Turkey Program, a Scientific Committee Member at L’Institut du Bosphore (Paris), a Member of the Board at Endeavor Turkey and a certified angel investor at Keiretsu Angel Network. She has also been honored with the French Legion d’honneur and Premio Europeo Capo Circeo Award for her contributions to the Turkish economy and her active role in NGOs.
