MONDAY 07.07.2025
Morning walking tour starting from the hotel | 09:30
Please wear good walking shoes!
After a leisurely breakfast at the hotel, our guides will meet us at the hotel for a ca 2-hour walking
tour of Dresden’s amazing Old Town.
Dresden, often called the “Florence on the Elbe,” is a city of breathtaking Baroque architecture and
remarkable resilience. Once the royal seat of Saxon kings, it flourished as a centre of art and culture
until its destruction in February 1945. Today, it stands as a testament to restoration, with its historic
heart beautifully rebuilt.
A two-hour walking tour unveils the city’s most breathtaking landmarks. Starting from the hotel, we’ll
explore Dresden’s most famous sights, beginning with the Frauenkirche, a stunning symbol of the
city’s rebirth. Strolling through Neumarkt Square, we’ll take in its elegant Baroque facades before
reaching Brühl’s Terrace, where spectacular views of the Elbe River await. As we continue, we’ll pass
the grand Semper Opera House and the magnificent Zwinger Palace, before ending at Dresden
Castle, home to the Procession of Princes, the world’s largest porcelain mural, depicting Saxony’s
rulers.
Note: Most major museums are closed Mondays, but both the New and Historical Green Vaults are open.
In the afternoon, a relaxing 1,5-hour boat tour on the river Elbe awaits.
Our final night dinner is held in the Old Town at a local restaurant.
