Since 2002, the Global Summit of Women has given to a variety of charitable causes. This year we are proud to present grants to the following organizations:<\/h4>\n

I. All China Women’s Federation<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Hon. Ma Xiuhong, China’s Vice Minister of Commerce acknowledges the generosity of Summit Participants’ $16,500 grant to the All China Women’s Federation for rehabilitation efforts following earthquakes in Sichuan Province focusing on enabling women to resume their livelihoods.<\/h4>\n

II. The World Food Program<\/strong><\/h3>\n

\"\"A sizable grant of $16,500 was pledged to the UN World Food Program to assist relief efforts in Myanmar following the recent cyclone disaster.<\/h4>\n

III. Winning Ministerial Best Practices in Public\/Private Sector Partnerships Advancing Women and Girls’ Economic Opportunities<\/strong><\/h3>\n

\"\"A. Minister of Labor, Public Administration & Empowerment of Antigua and Barbuda, Hon. Dr. Jacqui Quinn Leandro $5,000 grant to the Ministry of Labor, Public Administration & Empowerment of Antigua and Barbuda for Partnership and Opportunities for Employment Project<\/h4>\n

In partnership with the corporate community, this 16-week comprehensive training program empowers unemployed and underemployed young women to deal with life skills and includes areas such as reproductive health and rights. job readiness, Information Communication Technologies and civic education. \"\"B. Deputy Minster of the Department of Trade and Industry of South Africa, Hon. Elizabeth Thabathe $5,000 grant to the Department of Trade and Industry of South Africa for Promoting Girl Entrepreneurship Project<\/h4>\n

The program aims to promote and encourage entrepreneurship and use of information technology among girls so that they can contribute to the country\u2019s economic development and growth by becoming creators of wealth and job opportunities. This is accomplished by providing girls with a platform to debate and engage on their entrepreneurial ideas as well as providing them with role models.<\/p>\n

\"\"C. Undersecretary of Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare of Mexico, Hon. Patricia Espinosa Torres $5,000 grant to the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare of Mexico for Child-Care Program<\/h4>\n

The Child-Care Center Program helps unemployed women find jobs and to improve women\u2019s work opportunities by increasing the supply of child-care services. To date, the Mexican government has established 6,874 day-care centers that benefit 154,814 working mothers of 168,770 children.<\/p>\n
