A renowned panel of women business owners highlight leadership role
women are taking in bringing innovation to the marketplace
Wednesday, November 19, 2008
10:15 AM and 7:15 PM EST
While economic uncertainty may make the notion of starting or expanding
a business daunting, there are many reasons why this may be the perfect
time for entrepreneurs to go to market and expand their global presence.
The marketplace is hungry for solutions to do things better, easier and
more efficiently, which makes ideas the new currency of choice. A
global, connected world means unprecedented opportunity for business
owners to shop their wares to customers worldwide.
At IBM, we know that small businesses owned, led and influenced by women
are driving innovation. We invite you to join us in inspiring,
connecting, informing, mentoring and engaging women entrepreneurs around
the world. As sponsors of Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW), an
international initiative that will take place November 17th -
23rd in more than 75 countries, IBM will join business
leaders, owners, organizations, associations, academic institutions,
corporations and governments around the world in celebrating and
encouraging entrepreneurs. It™s all about €śunleashing ideas.
Help spread the word about Global Entrepreneurship Week and plan an
activity. Here are a few ideas:

day and share your entrepreneurial insights and experience
-
Mentor an existing
or potential entrepreneur
-
Sponsor or host an
entrepreneurial €śthink tank€ť, challenge, or workshop

Innovation Tip of the Week
In a Web 2.0 world business begins with a click. Blogs, podcasts,
videos and other forms of social media help transform these
clicks into long-lasting business relationships.
